Classes

Studio Z’s instructors lead Hatha yoga classes, incorporating postures/movement, breath, and relaxation/meditation.  They work to make yoga accessible to anyone and everyone.

If you are coming to the studio for the first time, please arrive ten minutes early to sign a waiver and give the instructor time to meet you and familiarize you with Studio Z.  Please be sure to mention any injuries or limitations to your instructor before class.  Thanks!

  • Yoga Mix: Our core class, Yoga Mix is a mixed-level, flowing, Hatha yoga class focused on balancing strength with flexibility. Fun and creative combinations are centered around heat-building Sun Salutations. Our focus is on balancing effort with ease through breath and mindfulness.  Modifications are provided to make this class appropriate for students of any level! Come for the sweat, stay for the bliss!
  • Mod(ified) Yoga: A gentle version of our Yoga Mix class. This class uses modifications and props to increase accessibility of poses and allow you to adjust the practice to fit your needs and abilities. This class is suitable for those with special health or physical concerns, e.g. arthritis or pre-natal, beginning students, or anyone needing a gentler practice!
  • Early Bird Yoga: Yoga is a great way to get your day going! Join the elite 5% of the population known as “early birds” and start your morning off right with this faster-paced Yoga Mix class. Some yoga experience is recommended.
  • Newbie Yoga: Curious about yoga, but intimidated? Think yoga is only for pretzel people? Not true! Come be introduced to yoga in a welcoming, relaxed, and supportive environment. This class will introduce you to basic yoga poses, sequences, and breathing techniques.
  • Happy Hour Yoga (offered the first Friday of every month):  Start your weekend off right in a fun, funky, healthy way! Crank up the jam and enjoy great moves and upbeat music in this mixed-level class.
  • Hot Yoga: Hot Yoga is Gabriel Azoulay’s Bikyasa Yoga, offering a consistent experience through a set sequence of poses with specific instruction, making the class accessible to beginners and challenging for advanced practitioners. The postures are connected in such a way as to provide not only a complete workout, but also a scientific approach to revitalizing the entire body. The room will be heated but not as hot as a traditional Bikram class, and the practice will balance silence with the fun of modern popular music.
  • Candlelight Yoga (offered occasionally):  A restorative, meditative class focusing on breath and relaxation.
  • Yoga Max (offered occasionally): A class designed for those looking for a challenging practice.  Take a step up from our Yoga Mix class!  Get ready to try more arm balances and inversions.  Yoga experience required.  Please sign up ahead of time on the Yoga Calendar page.
