Over the past years, we have built up a portfolio of custom espresso machines. Studio Zink is officially authorized by La Marzocco Srl – a premium brand, handcrafted in Italy since 1927 – as custom design partner. Our custom work includes full machine rebuilts – called our Xperimental series – as well as our Z-series retrofit kits to easily upgrade your La Marzocco espresso machine with a unique design.
Custom espresso machines by Zink have been shown at events and tradeshows around the world – including the Amsterdam Coffee Festival 2018, La Marzocco OOTB 2015 in Milan, La Marzocco Partner Summit 2015 in Seattle, Internorga 2015 in Hamburg, Taiwan International Tea, Coffee & Wine expo 2014 and FIA Formula-E race 2014 in Malaysia.
Z1 – retrofit kit for the La Marzocco Linea Classic
The Z1 custom retrofit kit for the La Marzocco Linea Classic pays tribute to this industry icon with a contemporary design. The Z1 has an asymmetrical design with a La Marzocco logo placed in a cut-out carved into the stainless steel bodywork – and accentuated by a stainless steel honeycomb grille. The custom machine also features an additional cup rack to support the workload of this high-volume coffee industry workhorse. After the first Z1 model series of 2014, Studio Zink introduced an updated design at La Marzocco’s OOTB 2015 event in Milan.
The bodywork consists of 3 main volumes that can be installed onto the original Linea Classic frame without any modifications, using the original fixation points. The Z1 is handcrafted in the Netherlands and can be ordered for a 2, 3 or 4 group La Marzocco Linea Classic. The Z1 retrofit kit can be finished in any RAL color scheme.
Z2 – retrofit kit for the La Marzocco Linea Classic
The Z2 retrofit kit for the La Marzocco Linea Classic has fast lines and sharp angles – accentuated with a wide toughened 8 mm thick glass panel on the back. This glass panel is printed with the La Marzocco logo as standard, but offers full customization possibilities. The lower side panels are detachable for easy access to the double boiler technology inside the machine.
The bodywork is built as one main volume that can be installed onto the original Linea Classic frame without any modifications, using the original fixation points. The Z2 is handcrafted in the Netherlands and can be ordered for a 2 group La Marzocco Linea Classic in black or white via the online La Marzocco store.
Z3 – retrofit kit for the La Marzocco Linea Classic
The Z3 custom retrofit kit for the La Marzocco Linea Classic exposes and accentuates the basic bare frame of this industry icon. The bodywork consists of a black top section with a powder coated or brushed stainless steel La Marzocco logo. Three toughened 8 mm thick glass panels expose the insides of the machine, which can be further excentuated by a powder coated steam boiler – dramatically increasing the wow-effect of this design.
The bodywork can be installed onto the original Linea Classic frame without any modifications, using the original fixation points and specially designed clamps for the glass panels. The Z3 is handcrafted in the Netherlands and can be ordered for a 2, 3 or 4 group La Marzocco Linea Classic or, in a slightly modified version, for the FB70. The Z3 retrofit kit can be finished in any RAL color scheme.
X1 – fully customized La Marzocco Linea Classic
The X1 is the first custom design of Studio Zink’s Xperimental series. The X1 is built upon a modified and fully customized La Marzocco Linea Classic espresso machine – dramatically changing the shape and profile of this machine with a sleek design. The design is inspired by the engine bay configuration of the Ferrari F430 with its glass cover. The X1 has a curved rear section with a cut-out in the brushed stainless steel bodywork – fully exposing the custom matte red powder coated steam boiler, which is accentuated by a brushed steel La Marzocco logo.
Studio Zink also built a special personalized version of the X1 for Café Chocolat in Lounge 1 at Schiphol airport. The X1P has an enclosed curved rear section, finished in the purple house style color of Café Chocolat and fitted with thick brushed stainless steel letters.
The X1 is handcrafted in the Netherlands and can be ordered for a 2, 3 or 4 group La Marzocco Linea Classic. To achieve the attractive low-slung curved bodywork of the X1, the original Linea Classic frame needs to be lowered and modified.
